Hi, I’m Matt. I live in Vancouver. I’m a culture operator and DJ with 20 years in music, working across live events, artist management and the tools behind them. I also DJ as DJ Express.
What I do now
| What | My role | Since |
|---|---|---|
| Different Gear Mgmt | Founder. Artist management. | 2025 |
| The UV | Co-founder, with Karli Fahlman. Creative agency and live events company. | 2017 |
| Paradise | Co-founder of the non-profit cultural venue (Paradise Cultural Society). Head musical curator and resident DJ. | 2019 |
What I did before
From 2010 to 2025 I worked at Blueprint, Western Canada’s largest events promoter and hospitality company. My last job there was Senior Talent Buyer.
What I’m building
I build the software my businesses run on by directing AI coding agents. I design the systems, review the work and ship it. So far that includes PocketOps, a phone app to run my work from anywhere, and some booking and touring tools.
